Le Zouave, le vrai, est un militaire. Il s'agit en effet d'un corps d'infanterie qui tire son nom d'une tribu kabile les Zouaouas qui fournissait à l'origine le gros du recrutement. Mais très vite, les Zouaves ont été pris chez les fils de gaulois : ils se sont alors répandus, et l'on vit des zouaves en Amérique, au Vatican, etc. Le corps fut dissout au 19e siècle, mais le Zouave fit par la suite une brillante carrière dans le civil...
